He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School and went on to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he also pursued a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Research. Dr. DeWal further honed his expertise through a fellowship in Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Surgery of the Spine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
