PrecisionCare Surgery Center, a joint venture between Orthopedic Associates of Long Island, Catholic Health, and Regent Surgical Health recently performed its first ten cases. Located at 28 Research Way in East Setauket, the center serves patients in Suffolk County and the surrounding areas.
PrecisionCare Surgery Center focuses on complex outpatient procedures including total joint replacement, spine, sports medicine, and general orthopedic surgeries.
“We provide our patients high-quality care in a modern, comfortable, cost-effective setting,” said President of the Board and Surgeon Partner Steven Puopolo, M.D. “Keeping patients out of the hospital was particularly important during COVID. Today, patients prefer an outpatient setting, when possible. Patients are on the road to recovery when they leave our facility, which increases patient satisfaction and outcomes.”
The center includes four operating rooms and 16 pre- and post-operative beds along with the latest technology for easy wireless access to patient records and files from anywhere in the facility. The center’s highly trained staff has extensive experience in orthopedic and spine procedures.
“Feedback from patients and their families has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Dr. Puopolo. “Patient education, individualized attention, and thorough pre- and post-operative care plans are all contributing to successful outcomes and happy patients. The surgeon is right there greeting the patient when they walk in the door and our nurses are caring for them and answering questions every step of the way.”
Board-certified surgeons conduct a variety of procedures at the center, including:
- Spine surgery
- Foot and ankle surgery
- Hand, wrist, and elbow surgery
- Joint replacement and reconstruction
